Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of BifröstIndex (the “Service”), operated by Bifrost Index LLC, a New Jersey limited liability company (“we,” “us,” or “our”). By creating an account, subscribing, contributing content, or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

BifröstIndex is a continuously re-verified, primary-source knowledge index for professional questions. The Service is provided on a subscription basis and may include free tiers, paid tiers, and contributor features such as question authorship, comments, and referral rewards. Features and pricing may change over time.

2. Eligibility & Accounts

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract to use the Service. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you provide, for safeguarding your credentials, and for all activity under your account.

3. Subscriptions, Billing & Renewals

Paid subscriptions are billed in advance on a recurring basis (monthly or annually, as selected at checkout) through our third-party payment processor. Subscriptions automatically renew at the then-current price for the same billing period unless cancelled before the renewal date. You may cancel at any time from your account; cancellation stops future renewals and your paid access continues through the end of the current paid period.

We may change subscription prices, tier features, or usage limits with reasonable advance notice; changes apply to renewals after the notice period.

4. Refunds

Refunds are handled under our Refund Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• use the Service to violate any law, infringe any right, or harass any person;
• scrape, bulk-export, resell, or sublicense the Service or its content without our written permission, except for normal AI/search retrieval as publicly documented;
• submit content that is unlawful, defamatory, misleading, infringing, confidential to a third party, or that you do not have the right to submit;
• interfere with the Service's operation, security, or other users; or
• circumvent access controls, rate limits, or paid features.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, with or without notice.

6. User & Contributor Content

You retain ownership of content you submit. You grant Bifrost Index LLC a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free, sublicensable license to host, store, reproduce, modify (for formatting and editorial review), distribute, and publicly display your contributions in connection with operating, improving, and promoting the Service, including indexing for AI retrieval. You represent that you have all rights needed to grant this license.

We may edit, decline, or remove contributions that do not meet our editorial or sourcing standards.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its software, design, compilations, and curated editorial output, is owned by Bifrost Index LLC and is protected by intellectual property laws. Except for the limited rights granted to use the Service, no other rights are granted.

8. Third-Party Sources & Links

BifröstIndex links to primary sources operated by third parties (statutes, regulations, agency guidance, advisories, etc.). We do not control those sources and are not responsible for their accuracy, availability, or terms. Links are provided for reference only.

9. No Professional Advice

BifröstIndex provides information from primary sources. It is not legal, tax, medical, financial, or other professional advice. Always consult a qualified professional for advice about your specific situation.

10. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, OR ACCURACY. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

11. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, BIFROST INDEX LLC AND ITS OFFICERS, MEMBERS, EMPLOYEES, AND CONTRACTORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, REVENUES, DATA, OR GOODWILL, ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE OR (B) USD $100.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Bifrost Index LLC from any claims, damages, liabilities, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your use of the Service, your content, or your violation of these Terms.

13. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these Terms or if continued provision would, in our reasonable judgment, expose us to legal or operational risk. Sections intended to survive termination (including IP, disclaimers, limitations of liability, indemnification, and dispute terms) will survive.

14. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be announced through the Service or by email. Continued use of the Service after the effective date of an update constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

15. Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. The state and federal courts located in New Jersey have exclusive jurisdiction over any dispute not subject to informal resolution, and you consent to personal jurisdiction and venue in those courts. Before filing any formal action, the parties will attempt in good faith to resolve the dispute by email through the contact address below for at least 30 days.
